Designed for both beginners and experienced pilots, this drone offers a 4K camera, intelligent flight modes, and FAA compliance, making it a versatile tool for capturing stunning aerial footage. But does it live up to the hype? Let’s dive into the details based on real customer experiences.

Pros and Cons: What Customers Are Saying

1. Camera Quality and Stability

The Holyton HT70’s 4K camera is one of its most praised features. Equipped with a Sony lens and a 3-axis brushless gimbal, it delivers sharp, vibrant, and stable footage even in challenging conditions.

  • Pros
Customers rave about the camera’s ability to capture breathtaking landscapes with vivid detail. One reviewer mentioned how the drone’s footage of Hawaii’s coastal scenery was “crisp and high-definition,” even in windy conditions. The night vision mode also received high marks for its ability to produce vivid visuals in low-light environments.
  • Cons
Some users noted that the 3-axis gimbal, while generally effective, occasionally exhibits more shake than expected. This minor issue doesn’t detract significantly from the overall quality but is worth noting for perfectionists.

2. Flight Performance and Ease of Use

The HT70 is designed to be beginner-friendly, but it also offers advanced features that appeal to experienced pilots. Its intelligent flight modes, such as Follow Me, Tap To Fly, and Circle, make it easy to capture professional-looking shots without extensive piloting skills.

  • Pros
Many users praised the drone’s stability and responsiveness. One reviewer, who owns seven drones, called the HT70 one of their favorites due to its agility and smooth flight performance. The Return to Home (RTH) function is also highly accurate, landing within 10 feet of the takeoff point.
  • Cons
A few customers mentioned that the drone’s speed is limited, maxing out at 18 mph in Sport mode. While this isn’t a dealbreaker for most, it may disappoint those looking for a faster drone.

3. Build Quality and Durability

The Holyton HT70 is built to last, with a lightweight yet sturdy design that makes it easy to transport. The included clamshell case, prop strap, and extra accessories add to its durability and convenience.

  • Pros
Users appreciated the thoughtful packaging, which includes a well-designed case, extra propellers, and a screwdriver. The drone’s matte black finish and overall build quality were also highlighted as premium features.
  • Cons
Some customers found the carry case design to be less than ideal, with one reviewer calling it “leaving much to be desired.” Additionally, the remote controller’s display is difficult to read in direct sunlight, which can be frustrating during outdoor flights.

4. Customer Support and After-Sales Service

Holyton’s customer support has received mixed reviews, but many users have had positive experiences.

  • Pros
Several customers praised the company’s responsiveness and willingness to address issues. One reviewer even mentioned receiving a full refund, an extra battery, and a charging hub after raising concerns. This level of support adds significant value to the product.
  • Cons
A few users reported initial bugs and usability issues, though Holyton has since addressed many of these through firmware updates. However, some features still need improvement, and the company is reportedly working on further optimizations.

Comments from Amazon:

It is comparable to some more expensive models

I really like this drone, I am really impressed with it. It is comparable to some more expensive models. It's easy to fly, it has a beginner mode. It has lots of good features. Like a good set of quickshots, including Follow me and Circle, Tap To Fly. The Follow Me quickshot works good, it follows the gps on of the phone. Tap To Fly works good, tap some points on a google map and the drone will fly along that path. Circle will circle a point. These make drone photagraphy easier. The Return To Home(RTH) function works good. It lands within about 10' of the takeoff point. It will automatically RTH in case of low battery or loss of signal. The camera is 4K, to it takes very good pictures, it has a 3 axis gimbal. The camera also has a night mode for low light conditions. The drone does weigh 349g, so must be registered with the FAA, so it does have built in Remote-ID. This drone also includes a strobe light to make it compliant with FAA night flying rules. The package includes a good case, extra prpellers and a screwdriver, a strap to to keep the propellers from flopping around. It also includes a quick start guide and a more in depth user manual. It uses the HT Fly app. Sveral functions from the controller are duplicated in the app, so you have multipe ways of doing things. Summary: With the robust camera features, the night mode and incuded strobe, this drone is comparable to more expenive drones. I can definately reccomend this drone for both beginners and experienced flyers

The camera quality surpasses that of most drones, thanks to the 3-axis gimbal

I have seven different drones, and this one is among my favorites due to its stability and agility. The camera quality surpasses that of most drones, thanks to the 3-axis gimbal. It offers several flight modes, including Follow Me, Orbit, and Tap To Fly, all of which work well. The RTH is also quite accurate. Additionally, it includes features like RID and an anti-collision light. The drone comes in a well-designed clamshell case with a cradle and a prop strap, making it easy to transport, as well as 3 batteries with a charging hub in the flight combo package. I would highly recommend this drone to both beginners and experienced pilots.

This drone is an absolute game-changer!

The camera quality is stunning

I recently purchased the Holyton HT70 drone and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. This drone is an absolute game-changer! The camera quality is stunning. The crisp, high-definition footage captures Hawaii’s breathtaking landscapes in vivid detail—every wave, mountain, and palm tree looks incredible. I was blown away by how smooth the videos were, even when the drone was up against the coastal winds. Flying the HT70 is an absolute joy. It’s super intuitive and beginner-friendly, but it still packs enough advanced features to keep experienced pilots entertained. The controls are responsive and precise, making it easy to glide over beaches or hover for the perfect sunset shot. What really sets Holyton apart is their tech and after-sales support. When I had a few questions about the setup, their team was quick to respond and incredibly helpful. It’s reassuring to know they’ve got your back even after the purchase. Whether you’re a first-time drone flyer or a seasoned pro, the Holyton HT70 is an excellent choice. The combination of an amazing camera, fun flying experience, and top-notch customer service makes it a no-brainer. I can’t recommend it enough! 5 stars, without a doubt!

Okay beginner drone returned and purchased the Spectra Mini 4k much better platform

Its perfect and has a lot of features for the price

I love this drone. Its perfect and has a lot of features for the price. This is the 5th one I have tried and this one is a keeper.

 My review however is honest

Full disclosure: I updated my original negative review to more positive after being given a full refund, extra battery & charging hub. My review however is honest. That said, after much complaining, Holyton have fixed (they call it "optimized" lol) most of the serious issues that originally afflicted this drone when it was first released and implemented several of my suggestions for improvement. It will fly to 11,500kft (3.5km, over 2 miles) under the right conditions. It has a good 4K/30fps camera but exhibits more shake than it should for a 3-axis gimbal. Some bugs and usability issues still need to be fixed and several features still need improvement, which Holyton say they are working on, so not yet a 5-star drone. However the remote controller display is still near impossible to see outside in sunlight, even in shade, so can't see icons and messages. Carry case design leaves much to be desired too. It is rather slow at only 18mph in Sport mode. Bottom-line: this is a good beginners drone but not really suited to moderate to advanced use by experienced drone fliers so expectations should be lowered accordingly. Hopefully Holyton will continue to improve it.

It's stable to fly and responsive to controls

I own about five different drones in this one is easily becoming my favorite. It's stable to fly and responsive to controls. Set up as easy once everything is charged in the app is downloaded. In my opinion it performs as well as the higher cost drones from other brands. The picture quality is good, and I will update with pictures when the weather clears. One thing to note about the included strobe, is be careful when you were choosing a color. One of the modes is an SOS pattern and you don't want to send the wrong message if you're flying.
