DJI Mavic 2 Pro Drone Quadcopter with Hasselblad Camera: A Renewed Gem or a Risky Bet?
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro Drone Quadcopter is a high-end aerial photography powerhouse, designed to deliver professional-grade results. Equipped with a Hasselblad L1D-20c camera, a 20MP 1-inch CMOS sensor, and an adjustable aperture, this drone captures stunning 4K videos and HDR photos with exceptional clarity and color accuracy. With features like ActiveTrack 2.0, omnidirectional obstacle sensing, and a low-noise design, the Mavic 2 Pro is a favorite among both hobbyists and professionals. The renewed version offers the same premium features at a discounted price, but is it worth the gamble? Let’s dive into the pros and cons based on real customer experiences.
Pros: Why the DJI Mavic 2 Pro Renewed Edition Shines
1. Exceptional Image and Video Quality
Customers rave about the Hasselblad camera and its ability to capture breathtaking aerial shots. One user mentioned, “The pictures I have been getting are extremely clear and of good quality.” The 20MP sensor and adjustable aperture allow for versatility in various lighting conditions, making it a reliable tool for both casual and professional photographers.
2. Renewed Savings Without Compromising Quality
Many buyers were thrilled with the renewed discount, which allowed them to save significantly without sacrificing performance. One satisfied customer shared, “I cannot tell this drone from a new one. Everything down to the plastic wrapping on the box looks factory original.” Another added, “The renewed discount was significant! I actually got the last one in stock at that price.”
3. Beginner-Friendly Yet Sophisticated
Despite its advanced features, the Mavic 2 Pro is accessible to beginners. A user noted, “Even as a beginner, everything on the drone works well.” However, they recommended learning basic camera operations to maximize the drone’s potential. For those upgrading from simpler models like the Mavic Mini, the learning curve is steeper but rewarding.
4. Durability and Build Quality
The drone’s 3-axis gimbal ensures steady shots, while its low-noise design makes it less intrusive during flights. Customers praised its robust build and reliability, with one stating, “I have my part 107 and fly drones commercially for profit. This is an addition to my fleet.”
Cons: Potential Pitfalls of the Renewed Edition
1. Inconsistent Renewed Product Quality
While many customers received pristine units, others weren’t as lucky. One buyer reported, “It came with no directions on how to assemble anything. One of the little knobs for flying on the controller didn’t even attach in.” This inconsistency highlights the risk of purchasing renewed products, even with Amazon’s 90-day satisfaction guarantee.
2. Minor Cosmetic Flaws
Some users noted minor cosmetic issues, such as scratches on the controller or aftermarket chargers. However, these were generally considered negligible. As one customer put it, “The control was a little scratched up and they sent an aftermarket charger, but who cares? The drone is excellent!”
3. Steeper Learning Curve for Beginners
While the drone is beginner-friendly, its advanced features can be overwhelming. A user upgrading from the Mavic Mini shared, “The Mavic 2 Pro is much more sophisticated than the Mini, so I’m going through a steeper learning curve with the new hardware and control software.”
Final Thoughts: Is the DJI Mavic 2 Pro Renewed Edition Worth It?
The DJI Mavic 2 Pro Renewed Edition is a fantastic option for those seeking a high-quality drone at a discounted price. Its Hasselblad camera, advanced features, and durable build make it a standout choice for both hobbyists and professionals. However, the inconsistency in renewed product quality and minor cosmetic flaws are potential drawbacks to consider.
If you’re willing to take a chance on a renewed product, the savings can be substantial, and the drone’s performance is likely to impress. Just be sure to inspect the unit thoroughly upon arrival and take advantage of Amazon’s 90-day satisfaction guarantee if needed.
Final Verdict: For those on the fence, the DJI Mavic 2 Pro Renewed Edition is a gamble worth taking, especially if you’re looking to save money without compromising on quality. Just be prepared for the occasional hiccup that comes with renewed products.

Comments from Amazon:
The “renewed” discount was significant! I actually got the last one in stock at that price (1499) but if they become available again get it! The control was a little scratched up and they sent an after market charger but who cares? The drone is excellent!
I also took a chance on buying a renewed product. Amazon’s 90 day satisfaction guarantee sealed the deal. I cannot tell this drone from a new one. Everything down to the plastic wrapping on the box looks factory original. All parts were included and look brand new. I used the money saved to pick and choose my accessories as opposed to buying one of the bundles. I looked at ALL of them for days before deciding on going this route. I am sure glad I did. As for the Mavic 2 Pro capabilities they are legion and easy to find here as well as the web. This is an addition to my fleet. I have my part 107 and fly drones commercially for profit. If you are on the fence regarding buying “renewed” I urge you give it a shot. Very pleased customer.
Lo compre ya hace bastante tiempo y me funciona perfectamente. Buena compra
Took a chance on buying a renewed product after reading everyone's great experiences. Well it came with no directions on how to assemble anything. One of the little knobs for flying on the controller didn't even attach in so couldn't even test flying it. After seeing this I decided it wasn't worth any further inspection. I've requested a return of this product and not sure how they expect someone to use this specific drone. I probably wont buy anything in the future that is a RENEWED item. Extremely disappointed.
While satisfied with purchase, a visual inspection is always best when it comes to technology
I purchased the DJI Mavic Mini and liked it so much, I decided to get the Mavic 2 Pro. Just tried it out yesterday and I’m really impressed with the picture quality and the quality of the drone and controller. The Mavic 2 Pro is much more sophisticated than the Mini, so I’m going through a steeper learning curve with the new hardware and control software.
I purchased this drone as the "renewed" category, where it had been returned or otherwise purchased but not used. The drone arrived in its original packaging with no damaged or missing items. The packaging left a few fibers on some of the contents, but a wipe down with a cloth got all of these off and they were not much of an issue. Everything on the drone works well, and even as a beginner. The pictures I have been getting are extremely clear and of good quality, but I'd recommend looking into basic camera operations as the settings will make a difference with how the pictures turn out. Overall a great drone, and with the money I saved buying renewed it was an even better deal!
