DJI Mavic 3 Pro CINE with Fly More Combo: A Flagship Drone with Mixed Reviews

DJI Mavic 3 Pro CINE with Fly More Combo DJI RC PRO, Flagship Triple-Camera Drone with 4/3 CMOS Hasselblad Camera, with 3 Batteries, Charging Hub, 128 GB Micro SD Card Landing Pad, Waterproof Backpack and More

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro CINE with Fly More Combo is a high-end, professional-grade drone designed for creators who demand top-tier performance. Packed with features like a Hasselblad 4/3 CMOS camera, three-lens system, omnidirectional obstacle sensing, and a 43-minute max flight time, this drone is marketed as a powerhouse for aerial photography and videography. The Fly More Combo includes a plethora of accessories, such as extra batteries, ND filters, a waterproof backpack, and a 128 GB micro SD card, making it a comprehensive package for professionals.

However, despite its impressive specs, the DJI Mavic 3 Pro CINE has sparked mixed reactions among users. While some praise its image quality and advanced features, others express frustration with its limitations and lack of updates. Let’s dive into the pros and cons based on real customer feedback.

Pros: What Customers Love

1. Exceptional Image Quality

The Hasselblad main camera is a standout feature, delivering stunning 20 MP photos and 4K video with a dynamic range of up to 12.8 stops. The triple-camera system, including a medium tele camera and a telephoto lens, offers versatility for different shooting scenarios. One user raved, "The three cameras and ProRes make this an excellent drone. Excellent image quality with collision avoidance that works well if you understand the limitations."

2. Advanced Obstacle Avoidance

The omnidirectional obstacle sensing and APAS 5.0 system provide peace of mind during flight. With eight vision sensors and a powerful computing engine, the drone can navigate complex environments with ease. This feature is particularly appreciated by users who fly in challenging conditions.

3. Long Flight Time

The advertised 43-minute flight time is a significant advantage for professionals who need extended shooting sessions. While some users reported shorter flight times (more on that later), others found the battery life to be reliable and sufficient for their needs.

4. Comprehensive Bundle

The Fly More Combo is packed with accessories, including three batteries, a charging hub, ND filters, and a waterproof backpack. This makes it a great value for professionals who want everything they need in one package.

Cons: What Customers Dislike

1. Lack of Updates

One of the most common complaints is the lack of software updates since the drone’s release. A frustrated user stated, "DJI put the Mavic 3 Pro out and then promptly forgot all about it. It hasn't had a single update since it came out." This has left some users feeling abandoned and disappointed, especially given the drone’s premium price tag.

2. Limited Mapping Capabilities

For professionals who rely on mapping features, the Mavic 3 Pro falls short. One user lamented, "It also can NOT do mapping, which was one of the reasons I bought it. I spent a ton of money on this drone, and it's useless." This limitation has made the drone unsuitable for certain professional applications.

3. Inconsistent Flight Time and Signal Issues

While the drone boasts a 43-minute flight time, some users reported significantly shorter durations. One user complained, "My flight time is only 23 minutes instead of 43, and the image quality gets garbage. I lose signal within 2 miles." This inconsistency can be frustrating, especially for users who rely on the drone for long-range shooting.

4. High Price Point

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro CINE is undeniably expensive, and some users feel that the value doesn’t quite match the cost. Combined with the lack of updates and missing features, this has led to buyer’s remorse for some.

Final Thoughts: Is the DJI Mavic 3 Pro CINE Worth It?

The DJI Mavic 3 Pro CINE with Fly More Combo is a mixed bag. On one hand, it offers exceptional image quality, advanced obstacle avoidance, and a comprehensive bundle that caters to professional needs. On the other hand, the lack of updates, missing mapping capabilities, and inconsistent performance have left some users feeling shortchanged.

Final Verdict

If you’re a professional photographer or videographer who prioritizes image quality and versatility, the Mavic 3 Pro CINE is a solid choice. However, if you need mapping features or expect consistent software support, you might want to explore other options. Ultimately, the decision comes down to your specific needs and budget.

For those willing to overlook its flaws, the DJI Mavic 3 Pro CINE remains a powerful tool for capturing breathtaking aerial footage. But for others, the high price and lack of updates may make it a hard sell.

DJI put the Mavic 3 Pro out and them promptly forgot all about it

Do NOT buy this drone. DJI put the Mavic 3 Pro out and them promptly forgot all about it. It hasn't had a single update since it came out. It also can NOT do mapping, which was one of the reasons I bought it. I spent a ton of money on this drone and it's useless. Sits in my safe taking up space. Can't even sell the thing.

Excellent image quality with collision avoidance that works well if you understand the limitations

The three cameras and ProRes make this an excellent drone. Excellent image quality with collision avoidance that works well if you understand the limitations. DJI customer service is amazing!
