The Holy Stone HS440G is a solid choice for beginners and recreational users looking for an affordable drone with advanced features. Its 4K camera, intelligent flight modes, and compact design make it a versatile tool for capturing stunning aerial footage. However, its battery life and wind sensitivity are areas where it falls short.

Comments from Amazon:
This is my first drone. I was referred to Holy Stone by a friend. I really like the HS270 drone. I purchased for recreational purposes and really am having fun with it. The 1st time I flew it, it was a little windy, about 12- 15 mile winds with a few gusts. The drone handled it well. Response to the controls is desent. It adjusts to the wind really well. Took it up about 70 ft. and out about 30 feet as I am new to drone flight. The auto return is great. Landed within inches of take off spot. The lights are beautiful. It is fast and smooth. Very easy to learn for beginners and the manual is easy to follow. Have not had to contact Holy Stone as I have not had any issues with the drone, and that is great. The drone is sturdy and well made. I saw that if I wrote a review I would receive a free battery, and here it is. I just called Holystone as I only received 1 battery with my drone. Shows I should have received 2. Also, I ordered an extra battery on Amazon which I am purchasing for $55.00 and taxes. I just want to have as much flight time as I can as the batteries take quite some time to charge. I am also going to ask if I can purchase extra charge cables, as they are specific about using the one that comes with the drone. All in all, I really like the drone. I highly recommend it. Thanks Holy Stone for building quality products.
This holy stone 440G is a really good drone to get started in this hobby. It flies very stable and has two flight modes. The slower one is nice and comfortable, not too fast. The faster mode is nice and quick. The calibration is not a hassle and you can get it in the air fairly quickly, and it handles great indoors. The video is surprisingly stable for an entry level drone, and the pictures are good enough that you'll want to share them with friends and family. The battery has an average flight time. Of course this depends on how you use the drone.... Fast mode, recording, and so on. I think this drone is great for this price. Buy it
As a new, recreational operator, I really like this drone. It seems to have a nice set of functions for a relatively inexpensive price. The drone is small and light and folds for storage, which means I can drop it in a day pack and take it with me on a hike and maybe add an extra dimension to my outing. I've flown this little guy 3 times since registering it, having performed quick and limited function testing below 3 meters, when I first received it. So, I haven't gotten too far into the automated features. So far, so good. Set-up and calibration were fairly easy, and I haven't run into any major control problems once the calibration was set (foreshadowing comment, to be sure). The restricted range for the beginner setting (about 30 meters) has surely kept me out of trouble, thus far. As many have noted, one of the limitations of the HS270 is battery life - I'm getting about 16 minutes of flight time per full charge (about 4 hours). So, it's important not to overextend on distance and knowledge of controls, or you risk falling short on your return. Of course, you can set automatic over-rides to ensure that the drone returns before the battery runs out. Now, the best advice that I can give to a beginner is to go find some nice open space to test out your new HS270. This means that you should get the registration out of the way and head to an open field. It's funny how at first you think that the biggest risk posed by drones to people is that of one dropping out of the sky. In fact, one of the FAA restrictions is that you must not fly over people. Falling on someone from overhead would be bad. However, a less apparent risk is flying a drone horizontally below 2 meters with people around. The HS270 has open, plastic blades that operate at high angular velocity. Believe me, when I say that not only do they leave marks, but they will also draw blood following even very low-speed impacts. A strike to the face of a bystander would be beyond regrettable. There is a way to quickly disable the motors by holding the take-off and landing button for 2 seconds, but that won't save you when you are low and in tight spaces and trying to avoid hitting someone. Just keep it above 2 meters when you are testing it out and getting the hang of maneuvering. As for my own self-induced brush with humility: tis but a scratch...or two...well..four, actually. Some nice additional features are: 1) it came in a nicely padded box that can be used for carrying it around and for storage, 2) an extra set of propeller blades was included, and 3) the opportunity to receive a free extra battery by posting a review - and that earns an extra star in my book.
