DJI Phantom 4 Advanced+ (Plus) Drone Quadcopter 4K camera Built-in LCD on Remote

The DJI Phantom 4 Advanced+ (Plus) is a high-end drone designed for professional-grade aerial photography and videography. Packed with features like a 1" 20MP CMOS sensor, 4K/60fps video recording, and a built-in LCD screen on the remote controller, this drone is a powerhouse for capturing stunning visuals. With a 30-minute flight time, a 4.3-mile range, and advanced obstacle avoidance, it’s no wonder this drone has been a favorite among enthusiasts and professionals alike.

However, as with any product, there are pros and cons to consider. Let’s dive into what makes this drone stand out—and where it falls short—based on real customer experiences.

Pros and Cons of the DJI Phantom 4 Advanced+

1. Build Quality and Durability

The DJI Phantom 4 Advanced+ is built to last. Its titanium and magnesium body not only makes it lightweight but also incredibly rigid, ensuring it can withstand the rigors of professional use.

Pros:

  • Sturdy Construction: Customers love the robust build quality, which makes the drone feel premium and durable.
  • Wind Resistance: One reviewer mentioned, "I LOVE THE WEIGHT of this unit. Great in the wind and easy to fly."

Cons:

  • Discontinued Model: Unfortunately, DJI has stopped manufacturing this drone, which means limited official support. One user warned, "This is a discontinued, unsupported model. Buyers beware!"

2. Camera Performance

The 1" 20MP CMOS sensor and 4K/60fps video capabilities are where this drone truly shines. The mechanical aperture and focus ensure crisp, distortion-free images, even in challenging conditions.

Pros:

  • Exceptional Image Quality: The larger sensor size provides better dynamic range and low-light performance. One user raved, "OMG, this is what professional drones should be!"
  • Gimbal Stabilization: The 3-axis gimbal ensures smooth footage, even during high-speed flights.

Cons:

  • App Compatibility Issues: Some users reported issues with the DJI Go 4 app. One reviewer noted, "Dislike the DJI Go 4 app does not work from Android or iPhone. You cannot fly."

3. Flight Performance and Usability

With a 30-minute flight time, a 4.3-mile range, and obstacle avoidance, the Phantom 4 Advanced+ is designed for both beginners and experienced pilots.

Pros:

  • Long Flight Time: The 30-minute battery life is a standout feature, allowing for extended shooting sessions.
  • Obstacle Avoidance: The five vision sensors provide reliable navigation and obstacle detection, even in GPS-denied areas.

Cons:

  • Incompatibility Issues: As DJI has moved on to newer models, some users have experienced compatibility issues with newer software and hardware.

4. Value for Money

The Phantom 4 Advanced+ was once a top-tier drone, but its discontinued status has impacted its value proposition.

Pros:

  • Affordable for a High-End Drone: Some users snagged this drone at a bargain price. One reviewer shared, "I LOVE mine... but I paid $500."

Cons:

  • Refurbished Units: Many sellers are offering refurbished units, which may not come with DJI’s warranty. A customer warned, "These are refurbished products and are not covered under DJI’s one-year warranty."
  • Limited Support: The lack of official support from DJI can be a dealbreaker for some.

Conclusion: Is the DJI Phantom 4 Advanced+ Worth It?

The DJI Phantom 4 Advanced+ is a fantastic drone with professional-grade features, including a stellar camera, robust build quality, and impressive flight performance. However, its discontinued status and lack of official support from DJI are significant drawbacks.

Final Verdict: If you can find this drone at a heavily discounted price and are comfortable with limited support, it’s still a great option for aerial photography and videography. However, if you’re looking for a future-proof investment, you might want to consider newer models like the Mavic 2.

For those who already own the Phantom 4 Advanced+, it remains a beloved piece of equipment. As one user aptly put it, "This is what professional drones should be!"

scam business stay way

Love mine! OMG, this is what professional drones should be! But... this is a discontinued, unsupported model. Buyers beware! You WILL find quite a bit of aftermarket support for this modell but DJI gives you nada. And impatibility is starting to factor in. Save your money for a Mavic 2 or something. There's too much headache to deal with this model per se -- as glorious as this babe is. Like I said, I LOVE mine... but I paid $500;.

On DJI website if you try to generate a repair request and put in S/N you will this is not new product

DJI has stopped manufacturing this Drone. On DJI website if you try to generate a repair request and put in S/N you will this is not new product. So the sellers are not selling "new" product. These are refurbished product and are not covered under DJI one year warranty. And Amazon will give you the run around if you try to get your money back. Sellers keep changing names in case you try to track them.
