If you are a beginner, this is the drone to learn on. It is sturdy and and stands up to crashes. It is small enough to fly indoors. Once you are comfortable enough to be able to hover and land an take off from a coffee table, you are ready to spend some big bucks on the fancier drones with high quality cameras and capabilities. Camera socks, and even the tiniest breeze makes you lose control. Save those experiences when you graduate into DJI level.
I purchased 2 of these around April of 2023. I tried to fly the first one in June to find it was defective and would not take off straight. I recently remembered the second one. I took it out side to fly. It took off and seemed to be working fine. I decided to take it up to the level of about the roof tops of the surrounding homes. It suddenly started to drop. I regained control and increased altitude. Well it went up and kept on going. I could still see it but the remote was beeping that it had lost contact with the drone. It cleared the roof of the neighbors house and seemed to go behing his house. Well we looked for the drone on two occasions and it was never found. It must of kept on going?!?!? I purchased this for the price and size. I thought it would be fun to beat around inside house and back yard. My DJI is to big for in the house but it has also never just run away either 😂. If anyone needs new batteries, remote, and / or (mine came with) a carry cases as well let me know!! This was the most 2 minutes of fun I have ever experienced for $30. Obviously there was an issue with these drones or remotes from the manufacturer that caused loss of control as others have experienced around the time I purchased mine. I could have taken my wife to a movie and got 2 hours of entertainment for the same price.
These lil things type cool not gone lie but first one stop working and second one propeller caught fire and melted!! How I have no clue but yea not safe for my child. But a few tweaks they def good drones. I honestly like em if they where safer
This little guy is sturdy, somewhat flexible, and inexpensive. This is an excellent drone to learn from the school of hard knocks without losing a fortune.
Cheap, fragile little thing.. But for that price, buy two of'em! One for you and the other for Mr Justin Case. .."Just in case" the other fellow wants to engage in some competitive flying.. ;-) The connection to an Android device can be challenging, but once set up, it shoots adequate quality video and photos. My only complaint is that the weather rarely cooperates; the slightest breeze knocks this thing way off course. But heck.. It's a whole lott'a fun with very minimal investment. IMO, with the blade guards on, it's even safe (enough) for kids!
Wanted to get more batteries and a backup drone for the one I already have, but unfortunately the battery is not compatible with my older drone - I can fit it in with a little bit of resistance, but after turning on the drone it flashes and not calibrating or flying, showing that the battery is empty. The same battery works fine and for quite a long time on the newer model to which it belongs. The older 4DRC PRO app can't connect to the newer drone, but the new app 4D FLY often crashes or is loading for too long. The video is choppy, often pauses or the app stops to react to your input - couldn't stop recording, for example, needed to terminate the app instead. The drone is drifting left and forward, so needs a constant adjustment to stay in one place for a while, so it's difficult to make a good video or pictures of a place/object you want. But it's OK for just learning how to fly the drone - plenty of practice to use the controller. One good feature: when battery is low first the drone's lights start to flash and next it's just automatically lands and turns the motors off. (Just be sure it's not above the water when the battery goes low). A bit disappointed by the quality of a new app and a lack of compatibility with the older model.
